Musing Monday

MUSING MONDAYS… is a weekly event where MizB at Should be Reading will ask a book/reading-related question, and you answer with your own thoughts on the topic.

This week’s musing asks… What distracts you when you really “should be reading”?

Really what doesn't distract me. It's hard when you lead a really busy life with work, kids, family, events etc.  It's always one thing or another.  Luckily my kids don't distract me too much, but there are things I need to do with them because they are still young.  My family wanting me to do things that's always a distraction that is sometimes welcomed sometimes not, depending on what they need of course.  Going places, my weekends are pretty booked most of the time especially this time of year.  It starts to get hectic to say the least.  More responsibilities with school back in full swing and all the fabulous holidays coming up.  Sometimes a really good show will come on and I try to read during commercials at least but it just keeps my attention so much even through the commercials.  Oh distractions! Can't live with them and can't live without them haha.  What about you do you have any distractions?

My distraction is checking my e-mail and of course making meals, but e-mail mostly. :)

Hope you can stop by my blog to read my post about the book conference I attended in New York City this past Saturday.

A giveaway is also directly below my Mailbox Monday post.

When I took care of my friend's kids full time (including evening and overnight) I used to have a designated half hour when everyone HAD to read! My plan was that I would read too and "be a good example"... although I admit I just wanted a break to relax and read... but I usually ended up reading books to the younger kids who couldn't read on their own! Ugh!
