Should be Reading will ask a book/reading-related question, and you answer with your own thoughts on the topic.
This week’s musing asks…
What was the last book you could not finish and why?
This happened quite recently actually. I don't like not finishing books but sometimes you just can't get into it. it happens very rarely with me but it happens. It was the Dream Slayer by Jill Cooper. I don't know what it was about it, we didn't click at all. I couldn't finish it and had to opt out of doing a review. Again this actually hasn't happened to me in a really long time. Even if I don't like the book I could finish it with a valiant attempt. But this one, I just didn't want to do it, didn't want to waste my time. The story was really out there and semi confusing and just eh. Not to say the book was bad it's just that it wasn't for me. Simple as that. How about you? What book couldn't you finish and why?
It doesn't happen often to me but when I have trouble connecting to the story, I give it at least 70 pages before I throw in the towel.
Yeah, I hate when books just don't click with me
It doesn't happen to me to often either. However recently it has happened more often than it has in the last couple of years.
I have on like that now. Here is my post:
Sometimes I've gotten a fair way in before I quit but now I give about 50 pages .. My MM http://daystarz.wordpress.com/2012/12/10/musing-mondays-dec-10/
