Description:
In Rebecca Rembish's premier novel, 'texting tyler', Chris lives in the shadow of his older brother, struggling to be the popular one... the good looking one... the one all the girls adored.
No doubt about it, Tyler Clarke is hot. Tyler Clarke has a reputation. Tyler Clarke has been with every girl in school. Tyler Clarke is also a virgin... or at least he was until his first date with Lori Matthews.
One thing Tyler could never seem to avoid was a label. Good or bad, no label had ever bothered him quite as much as the one he received from Lori. What was it about her that made him care so much? Why was she different from all the other girls he ever met?
While Tyler never made decisions on a future beyond high school, Lori is a planner. After graduation, she decides to spend her first year at home and attend the community college for two reasons. She needs more time to plan her future and she needs to save money. Tyler and what came next were never part of her plan.
With an uncertain future, a pregnant girlfriend and not many people to turn to, Tyler struggles with one of the toughest years of his life.
Lori's careful plans are turned upside down. The fear of raising a baby in the same difficult circumstances she grew up with and a relationship that scares her to death, Lori must make the most heart wrenching decision of her life.
Review:
This was a great read, quick easy and interesting. Things happen so quickly in life that sometimes you just need to slow down and realize what exactly is happening around you. This is about a whirlwind romance that went awry in one way but maybe it was for the best for the two main characters.
I've read the first book and was pleasantly surprised that during reading this book it was happening at the same time as the first book but obviously from Tyler's perspective. what a difference between the two brothers, I mean it was apparent in the first book just how different they were, but I think it was great to see how jealous each one was of the other for completely different but almost the same reason. It's all about perspective and I like that.
We get reintroduced to Tyler through his own eyes, he just graduated high school and has no ambition to go to school or even find a job, that is until he meets Lori, who is nothing like him. She is hardworking and going to school trying to support herself and get enough money so that she can go to a better college. They meet and rejection after rejection after all her friends leave for college and she's in town and Tyler is in town she finally gives in.
Maybe she gave in a little too much, because like they say it only takes one time. Now that she's pregnant what is she going to do. It's a lot of flip flopping and hard decisions the two of them need to make. Reality sets in and finally they come to an understanding but it was never easy for the two of them. You see glimpses of Chris here and there in the book and it just reminds you of the good parts and reading the first book in the series Texting Tyler. It's so crazy how completely clueless Tyler really was about his brother. And vice versa I would say.
Overall great read and you should definitely read them together to get both views.
