Review:

I haven’t read anything by Julie Hammerle previously but I have always adored Entangled Crush books.  Ms. Hammerle did not disappoint in the very least.  I think this book was well written and really sucked the reader into this small town in Minnesota.  I was almost tempted to bring out some Christmas stuff, after all it is July!

We meet Tinka who is back from boarding school and who has moved to a new town without even knowing it.  Her parents just uprooted and did all this without her knowledge, as if that wasn’t shock enough she was going through her own things with her roommate who just happened to come along for the summer break.  This book definitely had a lot of complicated realistic situations that happen to people all the time.  It was hard to read but worth the read.  Tinka is a strong girl, but instead of facing her issues head on she tends to run away.  You see her grown throughout the book and finally realize what she’s been doing to herself and others around her.  Of course she has help learning this not only from old friends but from Sam, her neighbor.

Sam also has his own family issues to deal with, he never really stands up for himself and let people know what’s going on.  Sometimes it’s hard keeping up a façade like that.  But together he and Tinka learn to grown as people with new emotions growing between the two of them.

I really can’t say enough good things about this book.  It was a quick read, very sweet and endearing. I had my heart strings pulled more than once throughout the book, I really felt invested in the characters and what they were going through.  I just hope you get a chance to read it and remember how important family and friends are in your life, and how important it is to always talk to them truthfully.  Letting things go will not only make yourself feel better but will make those around you understand and feel better as well. 

The relationship between Sam and Tinka was cute, should I or shouldn’t I, is this real or is this pretend struggle between the two.  It was sweet, and I was rooting for them the entire time.  Loved this book, definitely need to go read the first book in this series just to see how it all began in this small town in Minnesota.

Review:

Oh the beautiful story of good vs bad, of two people who find each other irresistible but know they shouldn’t be together because of all the factors in their lives, but they turn out to be the yin to their yang.  It’s inevitable.  It’s destined in the stars.  That’s how I feel about the two characters in this new Nina Croft novel.  It’s bound to happen and who cares if one is a cop and one is a criminal, things happen and sometimes they happen for the best.

We meet Regan as she’s coming out of jail and the guy who helped put her in there is outside watching.  It’s an obsession, they had a connection at some point but for obvious reasons no one acted on it.  That is, until she got out.  Now it’s all Nate can think about, and Regan isn’t that far behind either.  Their relationship isn’t the most ideal but the two together have an undeniable chemistry.  They want to pursue something but at the same time they want to keep their lives very separate from one another.  It’s a lot easier said than done.

This book had a lot of undertones about trust, and family and going through things together rather than alone.  Sometimes you need that person to back you up and help you see the light in certain situations and I think that’s what they were to one another, but it’s difficult because again there were a lot of trust issues, one being a cop the other a criminal.  There were also other factors in their lives keeping them from completely committing, such as Regan’s family of criminals. 

I love that this book was set in Europe, but I didn’t even realize it until a little bit into the book.  Then I started doing everything in an English accent in my mind while I read it.  Which anything with an accent is just that much more enjoyable, right? 

Overall the book was a great read, a little slow in the middle but once it started picking up I just couldn’t put it down and had to finish it as soon as possible.  My favorite part will always be the family scenes because they were just too funny and I can completely picture them in my mind.  I enjoyed the characters, it wasn’t too raunchy which I enjoyed and the story was good.  Good vs bad can’t go wrong with that, although I really wouldn’t call Regan that bad, just at the wrong time and place with the wrong person and things happened.

Review:

This was a super cute and super adorable quick read about a fantasy I’m sure many girls/women have had all their lives, after all who doesn’t want a prince charming?  Sara Hantz did a wonderful job transporting us to this private school where it seems even royalty attends. 

We meet Nik who is under cover trying to be a regular guy.  Its hard being second in line for the throne, even if it’s not something he really wants there is still too much attention on him.  Normalcy is a rarity in his life and he’s just seeking a little bit with a year away in America.  Of course he wasn’t planning on meeting someone, let alone someone as special and as strong willed as Amber.  The two of them are like ying and yang until you put them together and they fit just right.

Amber also has had a tough life, although not because of media and duties, there are things she has overcome in her past and has always had a hard time trusting people because of those actions.  Trust is a major part of any relationship, break that just a little and sometimes it’s just too hard to gain back.  Even though she adamantly doesn’t want a relationship this school year only wanting to focus on her photography and application, she couldn’t help but feel that attraction with Nik.  Again two peas in a pod these two.

There was a very sweet innocence to the entire book that you don’t see very often.  Oh to be that young and naïve, what a treasure these young people have today that they take for granted.  Overall the book was a great quick read.  The characters were just adorable and even though there wasn’t too much depth to the book it still kept you rooting for the couple to get together in the end.  The setting was very typical of a boarding school, not that I’ve experienced one in the past but it’s definitely what I can imagine it to be.  New Hampshire as a whole is also just a beautiful state and very remote in some places so perfect place to set this book in.  Loved it!

Nik drew in a long breath. He was in uncharted territory and didn’t know how to proceed. He’d never met anyone quite like Amber before—specifically, anyone who showed such disinterest in him. Was this what being normal felt like? To be ignored or dismissed like he wasn’t important? Suddenly, he wasn’t so sure if he liked it. He surreptitiously studied her, while she did everything she could to avoid eye contact. She certainly wasn’t his type, if indeed he had a type. His previous girlfriends had all been tall with blonde hair, which would imply that he did. Then again, in his country, most girls he met looked like that.

Amber was small, at least a head shorter than he was. Her dark brown hair seemed ridiculously short as it framed her face. A pretty face with freckles. And what was it with that camera she hugged close to her, like it was something so precious? He’d hoped that in America he’d finally be away from people constantly trying to get a shot of him. Yet, the first day here, he’d met a girl who seemed obsessed with taking photos. No wonder he’d frozen up around her.

“What are you staring at?” Amber’s question brought him back to the present with a start.

 “Nothing,” he replied abruptly, feeling like a small child being caught doing something wrong.

She reminded him of his old nanny, who’d always said that he shouldn’t stare at people because it made them feel uncomfortable. Most of the time, he didn’t even realize he was doing it.

 “It didn’t seem like nothing to me. You were looking at my hair, weren’t you?” she accused.

“Yes. It’s much shorter than I’m used to seeing.” The words were out of his mouth before he could stop them. He should’ve known better than that. He’d been trained since a child to be circumspect, and here he was, not two days in America, and he was forgetting how to behave.

“Girls don’t have short hair in your country?” Amber challenged, as if daring him to say even more about how she looked.

Which was another thing. All the girls he knew were masters of polite conversation. He had no clue why she was being so unfriendly. He hadn’t been rude to her. Admittedly, he’d been looking at her hair. Well, her hair and also her camera. But surely that wasn’t enough to make her so antagonistic.

Maybe it was a cultural thing. He would check with Josh later whether it was something he’d done by mistake. In the meantime, he couldn’t just stand there in such awkward silence.

“It’s different from girls at home, yes. But it’s very striking,” he added, hoping that would appease her.

She remained silent for a moment, with an expression on her face like he was a bug who had landed on her shoe. “Thank goodness for that,” she finally said, “or I might have had to spend the next several months sitting in my room willing it to grow.”

Review:

Another super adorable book from Chris Cannon.  This book had me laughing, happy, sad, and just all over the place with the main characters.  Really great story and what a way to start it off.  Addicting series with some really great writing and characters.

We meet Zoe as she is moving on to a private school like most of the locals do when it comes to junior year.  She is quite the firecracker and I would love to be her friend because nothing is boring with her, her friends and her family.  I thought her best friend was adorable as well, a real individual and also someone I wouldn’t mind being friends with.  It’s always great when you can picture yourself in a book with these great characters.  Zoe is hell bent on pissing off her brother all the time but the way she does it in the beginning only starts the book and her journey of a new school and a new special friend. 

Grant is quite the popular guy but definitely does not want to settle down with anyone, but meeting Zoe has made him rethink his whole situation.  Watching the two of them go back and forth, that’s called passion and interest, the bond they start to form it’s so sweet to watch.  They definitely have a lot of ups and downs, after all Zoe is quite the drama queen and if there wasn’t a threat with a shotgun or hedge clippers then it wouldn’t be Zoe.  It was entertaining watching their constant bickering over the most minuscule things in life. 

Overall I thought this book was wonderful, another great addition to the series.  I hope to hear more about Delia and her crazy sense of style and Aiden the straight forward analyzer of things.  A story about those two would be really interesting.  But the setting was great, the characters were funny and different, the story flowed very easily and you can completely picture everything happen like a movie in your head.  It was a quick fun read and perfect to get your mind off things.  The cover is very cute and simple but keeps you wondering what it could be about with the two people on the cover.  The title is also very catchy and you automatically start going through scenarios in your head.  Loved it, go read it!

Review:

I’ve read the majority of this series and what I enjoyed most was that the books aren’t really consecutive.  I’ve noticed that the some of the books are happening concurrently and I think that is brilliant.  Everyone always has a story and what a wonderful way to keep the stories of this group of friends together than by bringing out concurrent books in one series.  SO I’m a little lost because I missed the last one but that will be remedied soon.  In the meantime let’s talk about Dahlia and Keegan because these two are swoon worthy in their own right.

Tracy Deebs did an amazing job bringing these two together, even though their meeting wasn’t that long and the time period from beginning to end wasn’t that long it felt longer.  They felt like they actually fit in each other’s lives perfectly.  It didn’t feel insta even if it might have been.  There is a deep connection the two of them have on different levels and I loved reading about them and their journey. 

There is a lot going on in both of theirs lives separately but when they come together they help one another cope with the things they are going through.  I know that my heart went out to Keegan for being such a great guy in a rally tough situation, I will say that I really loved when he stood up for himself in the end but you will have to read the book to find out what I’m talking about.  Dahlia in her own right is going through a lot of life changes as well, not the same as Keegan but definitely as important.  These things will change her for the rest of her life.  Changes, it’s a part of life and sometimes it’s hard and sometimes it’s good.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book from beginning to end, and even though it’s a short book I was definitely left wanting more because I just need to know what’s going to happen next.  I know that not everyone can possibly get there happy endings and sometimes you have to go through life’s tragedies to get to a good place so I’m definitely looking forward to the next book, and can I just say how excited I was to find out there was even a next book because if not that would have been a tragedy in itself. 

Overall this was a great quick read that will leave you wanting more and get you interested in this series and the other characters that are involved.  I think the cover is super cute and is very Entangled Crush type and I love it because this is such a cute adorable cover as they always are, never a disappointment.  Go read this, great for a quick summer read on the beach.

Review:

Oh to be a teenager in high school and have to deal with drama, no thanks.  But then again when there is that one person that was always by your side, and they come back into your life things just start to feel so right.  But that doesn’t matter because again this is high school and sometimes you just can’t control everything.

We meet both Rylee and Chase in their junior year of highs cool.  They were once best friends and inseparable when they were in middle school but then Chase moved away and Rylee never heard from him again, until he turns up back at school and back with his dad.  It’s cute seeing their reunion happen and their realization that hey they aren’t little kids any more this isn’t just an innocent friendship, this is more and it’s probably always been more they were just too young to see it.  But there are of course complications throughout the book. 

It was interesting seeing their relationship from old to new and to secret of course because neither of them wanted anyone in their business.  But of course there will be nosy overprotective friends, and their boyfriends.  The dynamic between Rylee and her friend Mya was a little much, I think Mya was way too overprotective, there is friendship and then there is beyond friendship protectiveness. I got kind of turned off a little but I know it was just her way of being a good friend to Rylee.  Other than that I really enjoyed the book. 

This book not only touched upon a relationship that was long in the making, but it also touched upon alcohol abuse.  It’s something that happens quite often and people don’t even realize it.  So I thought that was a really great message throughout the book, the idea of getting help is a major step in getting past this sickness.  I think Chase was a great character and had real substance.

Overall I thought the book was a quick and easy read that had me interested from beginning to end.  I wouldn’t have minded seeing some of Chase’s drawings but I can only imagine what they looked like and how adorable to have a book that they passed back and forth between one another since middle school.  Would love to have memories like that.  Great book!

Review:

This was a very sweet story about two people who belonged together.  I read the first book of this series and loved it.  Rachel Harris did an amazing job telling this new chapter of this series.  It was sweet seeing their progression of how they were way back when and how they are now was adorable and addicting.  You can see how much they need each other and it was sweet.  They made each other that much stronger when they were together.

We meet both Peyton and Justin who are both stuck doing a project with one another, one where they have to be a married couple with kids.  This of course comes after years of them not speaking to one another after the breakup from their secret relationship.  It’s difficult for them to say the least but Justin is on a mission.  He knew that Peyton was the one for him but he never thought he deserved her. 

The book went back and forth from the past and the present; it also went from one perspective to the other which I really enjoyed.  I’ve always loved seeing everyone’s point of view of the same situation.  Sometimes one person will feel one way and another will feel the other way, so it’s always good seeing how they really feel.  This book was enjoyable, the characters were great and the writing flowed smoothly throughout the entire book. 

 I think it’s great when books introduce me to new things.  I never heard of Peyton’s disease and definitely went back and did my research on it.  It’s always interesting to learn new things and I think that’s the best thing, learning new things are always a plus.  Regardless this book was overall a good quick read that was interesting and kept me intrigued on what was going to happen with all the characters.   I enjoyed the baseball element as well.  Something about sports always make things more interesting for me, just a plus, maybe it’s the whole sport mentality and the uniforms don’t hurt either.

I think the cover is adorable and I would pick it up and see what it was all about but then again when I see who it’s written by I will still pick it up.  I think Rachel Harris is a great author and writes cute stories that will keep you interested, can’t wait for the next one in this series.  It was also cute seeing characters from the first book.  It’s nice when books are consecutive and you can get a glimpse into all the other characters in the series throughout the entire series.    

Excerpt:

“Hold out your hand.” At the expression on his face, I rolled my eyes. “Just do it.” Cautiously, as if I was going to put out a cobra or something, he uncurled his fingers and lifted his palm. I dropped a small silver coin in the center. “For luck.”

Wonder warred with confusion in his gorgeous brown eyes and my heart melted. 

“On this side there’s a horseshoe,” I said, my cheeks warming with a blush. “You know, the universal symbol for luck… and a small reminder of me.”

I bit my lip, hoping he didn’t think that was too corny—or that it revealed too much.

I flipped the coin over, exposing the other side, and my fingers slid across his rough skin. My breath caught. When I lifted my eyes, I found him watching me with so much intensity, so much heat, that an actual shiver rolled through me. Just like in my favorite books.  

Huh. So that was what smoldering looked like. Good to know.

I swallowed hard and noticed him do the same, and nothing could hold back my smile. Justin glanced down and laughed. “Kick some ass!” he read, skimming his fingernail over my initials.

“I figured…” I cleared my throat. “I thought you could hide it in your sock or something,” I said, unable to tell if he liked the gift or not. He just kept staring at it. “If it’s dumb, you don’t have to—”

“No.”

He’d said it so quietly I almost wasn’t sure he’d spoken at all. But then he closed his hand around the coin and raised his head. Time ceased to exist as Justin’s eyes trailed across my face. I held my breath waiting and a sweet smile crossed his face.

“Damn.” He shook his head softly. “You’ve done it now.”

“What?” I asked, hoping whatever it was that it was a good thing. “What did I do?”  

Justin merely shook his head again and smiled. “Wait for me after the game.” Shifting his gaze to the old concession stand, he took a step back and said, “Over there, okay?”

When I nodded, excitement lodging in my throat, making it impossible to speak, he winked and then took off to join his teammates. As I watched his cute butt in those uniform pants run across the field, a giddy grin found my lips.
