I don't usually read nonfiction, ,I'm all about fantasy and imagination.  But if I do read non fiction it's usually biographies.  And it has to be extremely interesting for me to read it.  Yeah I'm totally fiction

What are you most excited about reading, right now? (can be a book you’re currently enjoying, or a book that’s yet to be published, etc.)

I'm really excited for the upcoming books as well as the Hunger Games movie that is coming out. I'm excited for all the continuing series books that are coming out next year such as the new Mortal Instruments, Infernal Devices and Divergent books that are coming out.  As well as a load of new books that are coming out next year.  It just seems like it's going to be a really good year and I have no idea how I'm going to read all the new books and all the old books I have waiting on my kindle.  So excited.

Review: Hades

Review:
OK first let me start out by saying I will always give a book a chance.  Sometimes it may take me a little longer to read a book because I'm not 100% committed.  But I will always finish it.  I know there have been mixed reviews about this series and I too have had very mixed feelings about this series from the beginning.  Some parts are better than others, but like I said I always have to finish the book.  I think it's the goody goody aspect of the characters which I just don't find believable, at least not in this day and age.  But then again Angels are supposed to be beings that humans just can't understand right.  Anyway on to the book.  We find that Jake comes back and kidnaps Beth and takes her to hell where his plan is to get Bethany to be his princess in the underworld.  Of course she doesn't want to because she is in love with Xavier.  Well throughout the book she projects herself from Hades to where Xavier is and follows on their journey on finding her in hades.  They are in search of a portal and first need to go through a possessed nun and an archangel who they don't know if he wants to or doesn't want to help them.  Lucifer just wants to bring on the Apocalypse but he's not really in the book that much.  It's more about Jake's obsession with Bethany.  Again mixed reviews, some parts were better than others.

Challenge: Write up a blog post telling me the top 5 books you read in 2011 that you loved! That were your favorite!

 1. The Mortal Instruments Series - I just started getting back into reading and discovered this series, I put it off for a while, what a mistake that was.  How can you not love such a raw relationship, throw in some angels, vampires, fairies, demons and wizards.  You have an amazing series, where I need to get the next book I have to know what's going on between Jace and Clary and everyone else in the series.  I still picture Jace as having dark hair, maybe it's just my preference but I love this relationship.

 2,. The Hunger Games series.  First let me just say that I'm extremely happy that I have read this series all the way through and now there will be a movie made about the series.  I really hope the movie does this series justice because it really was an incredible group of books.  Katnis is such a symbol of freedom and she doesn't even know it but the relationships between her and the other members are just so interesting, it has to be hard going into a games where only one person can win, she really did triumph. 

 3.  Anna and the French Kiss.  Who doesn't heart this book seriously.  Etienne, what a name! This was the cutest book I've read this year.  Very quick read (I read it twice in a row because I just had to).  Imagine getting thrown into a situation you didn't want and then finding out it's exactly what you needed.  It's very sweet.  I can't wait to read Lola and the Boy Next Door.

 4.  Duff.  This has to be one of my favorite books of all time.  There's just something about the main character that I can totally relate to.  Reminds me of Revenge of the Nerds where at the end everyone says I'm a nerd, yeah I'm a DUFF, everyone is a DUFF.  I just really related to the main character and loved how their relationship developed even though neither one of them wanted a relationship.  See good things can happen when you least expect it.

5.  The Chicago land Vampire series.  This was actually introduced to me by one of my friends.  Otherwise I would never have checked this series out, and I read all available books back to back and now I can't wait for the next one to come out because if you follow the series I know you know you can't wait to find out what happens next.  This was a really different and cool way to portray vampires also, almost like a business with the CEO being the one who turned all the rest.  Great series.



So those are my top five books (or in my case books/series) that I've read so far this year.  I know there are so many others I would like to acknowledge but these are by far the best of this year and I can't wait till next year because there are so many good books coming out.  2012 will be a good year!

Review: Crush Collide

But what started out as an innocent way to make her best friend, Max, jealous soon gets way out of hand, and Willow begins to wonder if the mind - and more importantly, the heart - is something you can really control

Review:
Imagine being able to hypnotise anyone to do anything you want, throw in the fact that you are moving to a town you used to live in but want to make yourself over, make everyone think you are actually more fun than you really are.  This is how the book begins with Willow moving back to her old town with the hopes that her best friend Max and her will be more than just friends.  Of course when she gets back he already has a girlfriend but she gets the nagging feeling that he wants more so she goes on a mission to try and win his heart.  Here lies all the drama, first she does the hypnosis at a party and everyone is loving it, then she gets the brilliant idea that maybe making Max jealous will make him want her.  Of course this always backfires but you can't help but try.  She hypnotises Quinton to be the most perfect boyfriend.  This of course brings back my favorite saying, be careful what you wish for because once you get it you may not like it.  She thinks maybe it's what she wants instead of Max, because Quinton is so great but then the suffocating feeling starts to come in.  Her friend Mia (also another person she hypnotises) gets hurt, and Georgia is trying desperately to help Willow dehypnotise Quinton by using magic, or voodoo, pretty much anything they can find online.  It was a really cute book.  I don't want to give away the ending because I'd love to hear what you have to say about it.  Remember to always go with your first instinct if you think something is one way most likely it is.  Great book by Jennifer Jabaley, can't wait to check out any other books by her, especially Lipstick Apology which I've heard is also good.
