By: Tellulah Darling
Release Date: October 17, 2012

Description:
Why the hell can't chicks be more like guys?

That question plagues high school senior Sam Cruz. Sam is perfectly happy being a player. He just wishes girls wouldn't change the game from sex to relationships. It makes him look like an asshole. But when Sam's best friend, Ally Klinger, gets dumped, she begs him to transform her into someone who can screw around then screw off. No risk of heartbreak that way. It's Sam's chance to create the perfect female AND cheer up his best friend. Armed with Sam's Three Step Guide to Backseat Success, Ally gets the game better than Sam thought she would and before long, Sam has his wish: the female version of himself. Too bad it's driving him nuts. Told from Sam's and Ally's alternating POVs, Sam Cruz's Infallible Guide to Getting Girls is a fast-paced romantic comedy that follows these teens as they navigate the minefield of sex, love, and friendship.

Review:
This has been one of the most delightful reads I've had in a while.  Yes it's a little more mature than your typical YA book, but it was great.  It had a great story behind it even with all the sexual innuendos and encounters.  It happens, this is life nowadays, yes we'd like our children to be so innocent but they are not.

We meet Sam and Ally who are completely opposites of each other.  Ally is a brain and Sam is the ultimate player.  Recently Ally was dumped by her boring boyfriend, so to have the ultimate revenge she decides to become a player herself and what better way then having her best friend for the longest time and the biggest player she knows teach her, Sam.  He of course takes on the task because he like a typical player wishes that all girls could be player so there won't be any emotions attached, which let's face it never really happens but he can keep wishing.

To accomplish this new player status Ally must have a complete makeover and Sam is more than happy to get her going in the right direction.  But then something happens, Sam realizes that his best friend the brain is actually hot and he can't help but be turned on by her.  I'm sure you can only imagine what this leads to but he tries to ignore it and continue on this mission.  Things start escalating in Ally's player status and she meets a few people, but then something unexpected happens.  Then there are complications and bouts of denial and unrequited feelings.  Everything starts going downhill before it can all go uphill and following these two around was quite an adventure.

They so obviously have belonged together from the very beginning of their friendship but the fun part is always how to get there.  And it was definitely fun!  Must read this book for an enjoyable time, things like this happen many times, and many times they don't.  But when they work out that's the best part.  Very fun quick easy ready that makes you just smile in the end and root for the people in the book.  My favorite characters have to be the employees at the diner they hang out at because they so obviously knew what was right there in front of everyone.  Must be the years of experience.  Excellent read, and lovable characters.  Really great trailer and the cover is so simple but so great.  .

Excerpt from Demon Royale:

Searing heat.

That was Natalie’s first thought when she regained consciousness on the floor beside her hospital bed. Her brain was on fire and felt like it was being torn from her skull. There was blood dripping down her forehead into her line of sight. She groaned, grabbing her temples. She was fine, that’s what she kept saying, but now all she could think was, You’re dying.

She blinked her eyes and between each blink, she saw Mark Glovin at the mess hall in the summer camp kitchen. Natalie had never been able to phase in and out of a dream so easily before. It was like she was sitting in front of him instead of the slayer.

“You okay, kid?”

“No, my head really hurts right now.” The slayer said the words, but so did Natalie, on the floor of her hospital room, mumbling out loud. She wasn’t even sure if the words were hers or not. Was she the slayer or was she the paladin? Some days she wondered if it mattered at all.

Natalie groaned, fighting to keep her eyes open. She reached backward and saw the nurse call button dangling from the safety guards of her bed. Medication and help were what she needed, but her outstretched fingers couldn’t reach. Her eyes rolled into the back of her head as her arm slumped beside her.

In her mind, she saw the slayer slumped on the floor of the kitchen, Mark rushing to her side.

She guessed everyone was right. There really was something wrong with her.
