Review:

I’ve always loved reading anything by Jolene Perry. She knows how to bring you into a story and keep you there until the minute you finish the book and this was no different.  There are many choices you need to make in life and its how you make those choices that matter most.  You can’t think of anyone else sometimes these choices you have to make, have to be for you and not everyone around you.  This is what Has to Be Love is all about.  Choices and learning to love yourself.

Clara has been through a lot in her short lifetime, but now that she is getting ready to graduate high school and move on with her life, or at least hope to move on things become more difficult for her.  She has added anxiety in her life because when she was younger she was attacked by a bear (she lives in Alaska, so totally possible).  Of course her scars are not only visible to her but to everyone around her because it’s on her face and this is what is holding her back.  Her entire life since she’s had them she hasn’t learned how to deal with people’s reactions to them and has never felt comfortable about them.  You know that whole love thyself, its not something she subscribes to.  It’s tough I can only imagine but this book explores her many decisions, including that of Elias.

Elias, he’s Clara’s boyfriend, and quite honestly sounds like a really perfect guy not only for her but for anyone.  He is sweet, thoughtful and only wants forever with Clara but she’s not ready.  Decisions, decisions, there are so many decisions to be made.  In comes an outsider who really tips her off the straight and narrow.  She doesn’t know how to handle everything and starts to make the wrong decisions in life.  It’s entertaining to watch. And I can completely hear her inner struggle with her life, her faith and her future.  This book isn’t about love, this book is about finding yourself and being happy with yourself.  Some people just tend to get in the way or help you along the way. 

I really have to say that I’m completely rooting for Elias in the end whether that’s what is going to happen or not I still think he’s the sweetest book boyfriend ever.  So back to the decisions that need to be made, all her life Clara has wanted to go to Columbia like her mother and she finally has the opportunity, only time will tell if she will follow through (well that and you have to read the book). 

There were a lot of great coming of age bits in this book that were put together quite nicely and not everything will be perfect and rosy and will work out in the end.  Sometimes you have to let go to move on and be happy with yourself.  Overall I loved the characters, the setting and all the situations because they are real and believable and made you connect with everything and everyone at once.  I felt like I was in Alaska on that 4 wheeler checking out the house that was being built.  It’s all right there in my mind because it was described so beautifully. 

Love the cover, think it’s absolutely adorable and I would pick it up in a minute.  It’s cute and I think what Clara has with Elias, well it just Has to Be Love!

Review:

This book was absolutely adorable in every possible way.  I love when things work out the way they are supposed to even if for a while it doesn’t seem like it will.  Loved every minute of Ten Things Sloane Hates About Tru.  Tera Lynn Childs did an amazing job writing this story of these two semi delinquent art kids.  Oh how the troubles continue!

We meet Sloane as she is just recently shipped out of NY to Texas, hating the idea of being anywhere that isn’t NY Sloane tries her hardest to prove to her mother that she deserves to go back home to NY.  Of course there are some rules as in not getting in any trouble and not hanging out with the boy next door as he is trouble too.  But of course you know what happens they go to the same school and drive together every day they are bound to become friends, and maybe even more than just friends.  But Sloane is trying to be strong because she really wants to go back to NY. 

Tru definitely turns out to be a very decent guy who Sloane can’t seem to stay away from, or stop thinking about.  But their friendship is a strong connection, they divulg3e secrets to one another which brings them even closer.  It’s a very cute story of friendship growing to may more than just friends but it’s the journey along the way that matters.  The trust they have for one another without even really knowing the other.  It’s sweet, adorable and had me smiling all the way through.

Of course there was some conflict, but you will have to read the book to find out what it was, all I can say is I wasn’t expecting that.  It just really shows you who your friends are and you can’t trust everyone you meet right away.  The story, the setting and the characters were all very fabulous.  I liked them all and wish I could go to art school even though I’m not too artistic but they seem like a fun bunch, and the classes seem like even more fun.  All schools should be as carefree, but oh well you get what you pay for right? 

I would have given this an even bigger rating but really there was only one part of the story that bothered me, maybe it didn’t seem so significant to the overall picture but it was there it was mentioned and I really think it should have been addressed a little more.  I’m talking about the short stint of domestic abuse that is mentioned in the book, not everyone can handle it but reaching out is definitely the first step.  That’s all I have to say about it, just wishing there was a resolution there as well.

Overall the book was adorable I loved it and would definitely recommend it to anyone.  The author did a great job of introducing us to her characters and the conflicts in their lives.  Not to mention the budding friendship between Tru and Sloane.  So Sweet, smiling all the way through the end!  Great cover too, would definitely pick it up to see what it was about based off the cover.  Seems the two on there are sharing a very special bond with one another.

Review:

This was a really sweet book that had me entertained the whole time.  It’s hard trying to be perfect for everyone else, but sometimes you just got to do you!  That’s the message I received from this book.  The author depicted the pressure of school, parents, and teenage life in a “perfect” way.  It’s hard being a teenager and some adults seem to forget that.

We meet Perfect Paige, at least that’s how she feels everyone views her and some people call her that as well but sometimes it’s just too hard to be perfect, especially when it comes to Calculus.  She’s failing it and grades need to be submitted for her college applications, talk about stress, add onto that her parents stressing her on how much she needs to get this done so she can be the doctor they want her to be.  Talk about a lot on your shoulders, I felt bad for her numerous times.  It’s crazy.  But she randomly bumps into Ben Franklin, yes there is a relation.  He is brilliant and can definitely help her with her math work, but of course he wants something in return.  A date with the hottest girl in school which happens to be her best friend. 

Sure we’ve all heard stories like this before but this one is great because it’s like experiencing it all over for the first time.  I loved this story from beginning to end.  The characters were great, you couldn’t help but feel sorry for Paige, hopeful for Ben and mad at her parents, especially her Mom talk about a dictatorship.  There were some definitely great parts in this book where they had a moment, and then the moment gets interrupted you are like nooo, loved it.  I especially enjoyed that Ben comes to the realization of what he really wants and Paige starts to find herself, her actual self not what her parents want her to be. 

This was a great contemporary coming of age finding your own strength and a little love kind of book and it was a quick and easy fun read that had you wanting to finish it in one sitting.  Kendra C. Highley did an amazing job with everything from characters, settings and plot.  These Crush books are so sweet and addicting! Great read, make sure you check this book out and can’t wait for the next book!

Can I also say how much I want a cookie right now! Seriously, cookie please! Oh and I love the cover, its sweet very much a great part in the book, with the lavender.  It’s adorable and cute and oh so Ben!

Review:

Oh the Saints team, I need to find me a soccer player, they all seem quite wonderful and from all over the world.  This book was about the German on the team, who I tried to picture speaking and acting and all I got was very blunt, quiet and private.  But we got to see the very fashionable Sasha in this book too and the two of them was quite electric.  They really did have quite the spark.

Sasha recently got out of a relationship so was very hesitant to move on so quickly but the Kaiser (Nik) was very persistent.  Sometimes persistence really does pay off because he finally got her to go out on a date with her.  The two of them are kind of different but the same, if that makes any sense.  You get the sense that Sasha is very carefree, dances to her own beat and now tries to think before she acts, while Nik is very straight forward and when he wants something he goes full hardcore to get it.  

The majority of the book was them trying to get to a relationship, the cat and mouse game until finally Sasha gives in.  I was almost done with the book when I started wondering when things were going to go wrong because everything was just going too right for them between family and friends.  Even the jinx they had in the beginning of someone always getting injured when they were together had disappeared, but you do get a bit of conflict close to the end and it’s really how you deal with it that matters.  Let’s just say some people didn’t deal with it as they should have causing Nik more distress than necessary. 

We learned a lot about Nik and why he is the way he is, it always leads to a hard upbringing.  But it was very interesting finding out.  Sasha too has a big family so in that they were opposite but they bought it all together the way it should have.

Overall the book was good, there were some great scenes.  It was a little short and not as in depth as the first book, but I have to say I really, really hope there is another book about the Russian.  Because he’s just too tall and adorable for me not to want to read about him.  Great quick fun summer read and another view at all these beautiful men of the Saints team.  You should definitely check this book out just to continue with the series because you do get some insight on some of the other men from the team.

Review:

We’ve met Mason previously in the Kissing Eden series and he was always an interesting character.  It was nice to finally see him again and introduce new people to him, someone who can finally tame that playboy status he lived by.  T.A. Foster never disappoints in any of the books I’ve read by her and this was definitely on the same path.  Not only was there a good story but there were also some very lovely private scenes between the two main characters while still being very tasteful.

We meet Sydney who is an up and coming journalist and on the verge of a great story about a company who is taking over the cove and planning to build a resort, who just happens to be Mason.  This is how they meet and there is an interest there even if Mason doesn’t want there to be.  One thing leads to another and their attraction is undeniable.  All it took was a few margaritas before things got out of hand and they threw caution to the wind.  I’m telling you tequila can be dangerous when it comes to human interactions.

Mason definitely begins fighting the attraction from the very beginning constantly saying how it is just pure fun and nothing more but he catches feelings quite quickly and unexpectedly that it even surprises him.  There is a lot of talk about their jobs and their conflicts of interest but the two make it work for a while on the fun side, until things aren’t fun anymore.  The two are really great together go and everyone around them can definitely see the changes but they face some challenges that they have to work through together. 

I love some of the scenes in the books like the bonfire scene.  I really need to find a beach that offers this because it always seem so much fun and it was really great revisiting characters from the Kissing Eden Series, because they were always so much fun.

Overall the book was great, another great addition to T.A. Foster’s library and it was a quick and easy read that kept you interested from the beginning to the end.  The cover is very cute and eye catching because I would pick it up just to see what it was about.

Dusk settles over us, and inky light veils Reagan’s tanned body. She smiles back at me over her shoulder, her hand clutched tightly in mine as she leads us through the cool grass of the field. I study the line of her back from her cropped top and those denim shorts of hers. She’s curves and soft sweeping lines, no angles tonight. I’m convinced her barefoot on a summer night might be the sexiest thing yet.
“Are you sure you want to go back?” she asks. Maybe she asks twice because she stops and tugs me closer. “Noah?”
I brush the back of my hand against my forehead, my skin sticky from working on the house all day. My body feels stretched and alive after the work, like a good runner’s high except this is bone deep. I want to kiss her so badly. Instead I take her hand and twirl her in a slow circle so her hair fans out and brushes over her sun-kissed shoulders.
If I could keep her, if we could have more than this moment, I think everything in life would work out finally. Realistically, I know we can’t have anything more than now. And I plan to make the most of it.
Reagan shimmies her hips, her hands up in the air as she lets go and dances. Fireflies flicker around her, the moon is finally up in the sky, and the Montana night has fully settled in. Between crickets and my heart beat, it’s just her softly humming to herself as she dances for me.
I reach out and hook my fingers inside the waist of her shorts and drag her against me. She gazes up dreamily, still humming, her eyes wide and sleepy.
“I love you,” I whisper. The words fall out and as soon I as hear them leave my mouth, I stiffen.
Her hand skirts up my bare chest and curls around the back of my neck. “What a perfectly dumb thing to say about a girl like me.”
I smile because she’s not backing away. Judging by her smile, she’s teasing, so I take my chances and press on. “I think it’s a perfectly true thing to say to you.”
“Tell me, Noah, how does a girl like me respond to that? From a boy like you?” She pushes up to the balls of her feet and kisses my chin, scratching her nails along the back of my neck, and I’m so instantly turned on. Completely. Her lips spread into a smile over my jaw as she feels me hard against her middle.
“I want today to last forever,” she says, her breath warm over my skin. She slides her body closer, her hands growing greedy. “Tell me we have a thousand more days like today.”

I could lie. Holy hell, do I want to lie, but my lips meet hers instead and I kiss her until the truth is there, until we both know we can’t because her life is going one way and mine another, if at all. We have tonight and another week and maybe emails or texts later. We don’t have anything permanent and maybe that’s why I told her what I did. Maybe that’s why she doesn’t run away.
