Meant to Be

Release Date: November 13, 2012

Description:
Meant to be or not meant to be . . . that is the question.

It's one thing to fall head over heels into a puddle of hazelnut coffee, and quite another to fall for the—gasp—wrong guy. Straight-A junior Julia may be accident prone, but she's queen of following rules and being prepared. That's why she keeps a pencil sharpener in her purse and a pocket Shakespeare in her, well, pocket. And that's also why she's chosen Mark Bixford, her childhood crush, as her MTB ("meant to be").

But this spring break, Julia's rules are about to get defenestrated (SAT word: to be thrown from a window) when she's partnered with her personal nemesis, class-clown Jason, on a school trip to London. After one wild party, Julia starts receiving romantic texts . . . from an unknown number! Jason promises to help discover the identity of her mysterious new suitor if she agrees to break a few rules along the way. And thus begins a wild goose chase through London, leading Julia closer and closer to the biggest surprise of all: true love.

Because sometimes the things you least expect are the most meant to be.

Review:
This book was absolutely amazing. It had me hooked within the first chapter; I didn’t want to let it go. The author took me on adventure of clumsiness and first kisses, adventures in a foreign country and the whole time my heart is just beating rapidly and dropping every where because the story was so great.
We meet Julia who is a smart student, very organized, a swimmer and very much a rule follower who is also on her way to London on a class trip. When she arrives there she learns that she has to have a buddy who just happens to be Jason, her complete opposite. She even goes as far as calling him her nemesis. Their first night there since they are buddies and must go everywhere together he drags her to a party. There she has her first real drink, and maybe has a little bit too much where she starts to flirt with all the guys and gives her number to a couple of them just to get away. The next day one of them texts her. Jason sees this and they set on a mission to try and find out who this Chris character is, all the while Julia believes that Mark (a boy from back home) is her MTB (Meant to Be) person.

They go on chases around London trying to find out where Chris was, where he could have been and what he was doing all the while getting to know each to her. Some of the things that Jason does pull at my heart strings, he’s all for show I can tell but deep down he really cares and he’s a sincere guy. The typical bad boy personal but all good inside, he’s almost perfect if you like that. Julia is starting to think twice about all her choices and just wants to get back to the way things were. That’s when she runs into Mark, in London of all places, her MTB.

They hang out, and you know that saying about putting things on a pedestal and be careful what you wish for. When reality hits Julia and she realizes he’s not what she thought he was at all. It’s almost sad to see her whole fantasy crumble right in front of her and what a bad choice Mark would be. She also comes to other realizations that hit her like a freight train.

Overall this book was a hundred and fifty percent adorable and addicting and I did NOT want the story to end at all. I’m still thinking about it right now, I can’t wait to see what this author comes up with next. Very much loving this book and very highly recommended.  Only thing I know is I have no clue why I waited so long to read this book, it was perfect!
